An AI engineer builds products on top of machine learning models: plugging LLMs into applications, building retrieval (RAG) pipelines, agents and evaluation suites, then running them in production. The job sits between software engineering and machine learning, and most teams look for strong backend skills first.
Titles vary. Applied AI engineer, AI software engineer and forward deployed AI engineer often describe the same work. This page lists every open job whose title says AI engineer. For model training and research roles, see machine learning and research jobs.
Every job comes from the company's own career page and is checked daily, so closed roles drop off.

An AI engineer turns models into working products. Typical work: calling model APIs, designing prompts and tools, building retrieval over company data, measuring quality with evaluations, and keeping latency and cost under control in production.
A machine learning engineer usually trains, fine-tunes and serves models. An AI engineer usually builds applications around existing models. The two overlap, and many companies use the titles loosely, so read the responsibilities rather than the title.
Most posts ask for solid Python or TypeScript, experience with LLM APIs, retrieval and vector databases, evaluation methods, and the usual production basics: APIs, cloud, monitoring and testing.
It depends on the city and the level. The salary section on this page shows the ranges advertised in current job posts, by experience level.
